Using Lightspeed Product Availability with your online store

This feature in Lightspeed allows you to view and edit product availability and quantity remaining from within your POS. This is synced in real time to your online store to ensure customers can only order what is available.

Enable Product Availability in Lightspeed 

Go to Lightspeed Back Office → Features → Product Availability on POS

  1. Enable the feature
  2. You will now be able to access the Product Availability settings in your POS

⚠️ If you are not an Admin user for your Lightspeed company, you will need to be given permission to manage Product Availability in the POS. 

If you are an Admin and you want to give this permission to your POS users, you can do so via Lightspeed Back Office → People → Users → select user → Advanced POS Permissions → Edit Product Availability

Enable integrated Product Availability in Bopple

This part of the Lightspeed Kounta x Bopple integration is being enabled on request. Once you have everything set up in Lightspeed, please get in touch so our implementation specialists can help get you going. 

Managing Product Availability in POS

Go to POS → Ξ (side menu) → Product Availability

  1. Navigate to the product you'd like to update
  2. Tap on the product
  3. Use the "Available" option to turn the product on or off
  4. Use the "Limit amount" option to set a countdown on how many you have remaining. Once this reaches zero the item will be made unavailable automatically.

How Product Availability is reflected in your online menu

Any update to you make to product or option availability in your POS is immediately sent to your online store (it can take a few seconds to apply). 

Products

  • Products marked unavailable will appear disabled with a sold out indicator. 
  • If you you have limited the product amount and there are less than 10 available, this will be displayed on the product tile in your menu. 

⚠️  Any product marked as unavailable in your POS cannot be ordered. This also applies to pre-orders for future times or days. 


Product Variants

  • Variants marked as unavailable will be temporarily removed from the selections on the parent product in your menu. 
  • If all variants of a product are unavailable, the parent product will be temporarily removed from your menu. 

Options

  • Options marked as unavailable will be temporarily removed from the selections on any product they are linked to in your menu. 
  • Note that you cannot update availability of Modifiers in your Lightspeed POS, only Options
